My first car was an '84 5.0 LX CFI/auto. I bought it in '91 and it had 80k on it. It was pretty much cherry. It was very slow (15.7@87) but I had big dreams of souping it up. I wrecked it of course and always regretted it.
It's funny that you mention wanting to drive that kind of car again just for kicks because I bought an '85 last year for sentimental reasons. Unfortunately it cost twice as much with over double the mileage compared to the one I bought back in the day.
It doesn't quite feel like the sweet machine I remembered but I do enjoy driving it. It's like a flashback to high school.

89 Chrystler LeBaron GT convertable. It was a fun little car but the motor on the top went out so it had to be taken down and put back up manually...that was a bitch.

Nice! Mine had a v8 that maybe had 165 hp brand new; half that by the time I got it. The bench seats really came in handy during high school

I really would like another one. I've even considered building up an earlier 2-door:

79 Mustang coupe. Brown on brown vinyl. Bought it in 85 for $500. Death by volcano a few years later.

I'd like to own a skylark from about that same vintage.

Friend in HS was going to get a 71 Skylark from his dad. One owner, mint fucking car, he sold it to buy a honda accord to rice out.

My old nova had the bench, was very handy in HS. It's probably a good thing it didn't have any power because I drove it like I stole it.

1984 camaro berlinetta with t-tops bought in 91. The t-tops would leak everytime it rained, good times lol...

I was actually looking around for one a couple of months ago.

83 F150 reg cab long bed. I worked on it at the small independent mechanic's shop that I worked at, and then got told I was buying it (a deal my dad made with the owner of the truck) so I paid the shop for my own labor. That sucked.

Two weeks after I started driving it the oil pump locked up while I was hauling hay. With it down and needing an engine, I bought an 87 tbird lx sport for $300 and then worked the truck's engine over at work. By my junior year, I would walk out and drive whichever one started.
