Don't turn it into a big government thing. You're stretching too.

The park would be wise to do this. Again, it would only take a slight adjustment, it seems. The way you say it, they might as well not have rails at all. Silly logic. How many deaths or serious injuries does it take to give it some thought? And what is the downside? It's not like they need to build a giant wall.

In that case there should be a 10' iron fence on both sides of the Grand Canyon and on every single trail up the rockies, because someone might make the wrong decision or not know their limits, and fall.

I don't at all fault the guy for wanting to get a ball for his kid, but the only person to blame here is the guy reaching out beyond his physical limits/coordination. Anyone that goes over a waist high rail has no one to blame, but themselves.
Why is it that your only argument is to compare what I'm saying to really extreme and ridiculous scenarios? Don't you see how absurd that is? What would it hurt to add a couple of inches? If it saves one life and keeps the Rangers out of court then it's a win-win.

i am truly not trying to, i believe it was an accident. how many people were at that game that didnt die x the number of games x the number of MLB teams x the number of years baseball has been played.?
ive been injured in a car wreck that was also an accident. should all car manufacturers be forced to install hans devices? thats the angle i was coming from. just my .02

        god bless.

Again, apples and oranges. Accidents happen. But if something very easy and minor can be done with no real downside and that can save a life and keep the organization out of court, essentially saving them money, then why not? After watching the video, it sure looks like a few more inches would have made the difference. Do that from the walking floor level but keep the first row of seats that much higher and it wouldn't even affect the view at all. You act like I'm suggesting that they put in a high wall with nets and padding and seatbelts. That's way beyond what I'm saying.

They obviously have a rail there in the first place to serve a purpose, right? And they make it the height they made it because they figured that was good enough. And how do you learn that maybe you should have thrown on a couple more inches? Maybe when you have a few people fall over it resulting in serious injury or death? The rail isn't that high. And sure, if everyone stays away from it then there is no problem. But is that reality? Or, is it reality that dads caught in the moment will lean over that rail to snag a ball from the league MVP for their son? Is that not likely in baseball? All I'm saying is that they could plan ahead for that or (gasp!) make minor adjustments over the years to hopefully make things a tad safer.
