Do we really, though? Sure we put more scumbags to death than most if not all other states, but it's still just a handful (23 since 01-2010) and it takes years if not decades to get it done. We also have a substantially larger population than everyone but Cali, so we should have more criminals to put down than 48 other states.

Meanwhile, there were 2933 murders committed in the state last year. We didn't even manage to execute 1 percent of the murderers. Surely, more than 1% deserve death.
