Drivers license office number 3- 3 hour wait
Drivers license office in small town yesterday- 3 hour wait

So I come back to office number 2 at 8am (opening) and I'm number 32 in line!

Wow, unreal. And every transaction seems to be at least $50+.

Just an observation how packed these license offices are.

I agree, but unfortunately you can't use it every time you renew. You have to physically go to the DMV something like every 3rd or 4th time you renew. I'd rather be kicked in the nuts than go to the DMV. Seriously, if I could waive a trip to the DMV by having a State Trooper come to my house and kick me in the nuts, I'd do it.

On another note, this just shows the kind of morons we have running the Texas DMV. Arizona, specifically Maricopa County, has the DMV process down about as efficient as you can get it. It was actually not a huge pain in the ass to renew your license or register your vehicle. (Registration taxes and vehicle inspections where another story, though).

I am a bit confused as to how horrendous delays in government offices means that they should be rolling in money. It would seem to be the exact opposite to me.

Oh I know just saying.

By being crowded, and every 5-8 mins taking in $40-$50 and 6-8 DMV agents processing payments seems like a high revenue intake stream to me. Now if it were just 1 or 2 agents yea, but this many people paying that many agents that frequently seems to be a fairly big consistent revenue stream.
