Looks like a basic trailer, not sure about price. The channel neck is a way to cut cost, which means they are looking at other areas as well to cheap out.

So in your opinion who makes the best trailers for hot shotting?

That sounds mighty short on pay. after tax's, fuel, mantance fund, tags. And a whole lot of other stuff it will eat deep in to that. Also you have to run a log book, have to add motel every nite unless you put a legal sleeper on it. You cant sleep in the back seat. And when Mr DOT decides to hand you a ticket for some little bull shit thing. And DOT fines are not cheap. Think long and hard and figure out what its going to cost you per mile to run the truck. The cost may surprise you.

Figuring Cost Per Mile Truckers must not be flying by the seat of their pants When airplanes were a new idea, pilots were the cowboys of the air. Barnstormers would fly in and out the open doors of barns: they truly flew by the seat of their pants. They had a wicker seat, a control … Continued

Tough call, I'm biased after having been in that industry for nearly a decade.

It's going to be tough to make any money on that deal. The hot shot biz is brutal, it works great until the truck goes bad and needs a lot of work. Like the earlier post, dot and local law enforcement can't wait to pull you over. One fine can be more than your net profit on the load. Really check into it a little further. Double your anticipated expenses on paper and if it still makes money then go for it.

And trust me, they will find a ticket to write you regardless of how well you think your shit is together. Every time one of our big trucks gets pulled over they find some kind of new BS to write it up for. They have even busted our 1-ton service trucks for being over weight. Even though its a pickup you might need a class A CDL, I think it depends on what the truck/trailer combo is rated at. I think our gooseneck is rated at 30k.

I even had one try to trip me up he ask for my long form physical and short.
A lot of guys don't carry both. I have been seeing a lot more pickups behind the scale houses as lately.

Bring all paper work and a comcheck with you driver.
My ass puckers every time that light stays red longer than I think it should. They will find something even if its just even not carrying you last flag across to your next change od duty.

Everyone had to know the sweet deal would run out sooner or later.
