  • Character witness??

Anyone ever been a character witness in a trial? Curious what the procedure is.

Not sure anyone on here qualifies as a character witness.

I was one for a street racing charge against a friend of mine. Just be careful how you answer questions. Questions may be worded in a way that make it difficult to answer. Don't be afraid to ask for the question to be repeated before answering. If they catch you answering with uncertainty they will go for the kill and you may find yourself stammering for the next answer.

my experience is to answer the question just as it is asked. if they ask you if you are wearing a watch, say yes. don't go into detail about the watch, where you got it from etc etc...

Exactly. The lawyer who coached me said to never volunteer info. Questions I had to answer were all yes or no anyway.
