UPDATE , she woke up . Wife's freind said she woke up and was acting confused and hit her head on the sun visor trying to get out and turned on the windshield wipers all while leaving the car running . She did get it shut down and make it inside her house . Maybe she was just tired . LOL

Any of these reasons are a damn good reason to have a LEO check out the scene, and not at all a dick move. ESPECIALLY if alcohol and/or drugs are to blame.
imo best thing to do is wake the girl up turn the car off and get the keys out of the ignition. you can sit in the car all day long but without keys your not driving it. then maybe call the police to see whats going on

Not very perceptive today? Post #19.

I never said they were letting drunks go on non-holidays, the officer below stated this weekend they were going to be "extra strict. If they are going to be "extra strict" this weekend, what does that say about non-holiday weekends? That's right, say it with me, "less strict". Which means, they are enforcing laws differently based on times of the year.

Extra strict as in NO refusal weekend. They do this two times a ear for a reason. July 4th and new years. The two biggest down time, beer flowing times of the year. There has been more fatality dwi crashes, dwi arrests, and intoxicated related offenses shown on those days. Therefore enforcement during those times are stricter. The officers in my area are far from lax on dwi enforcement. You are making assumptions which is to be expected on here. Go ride out with someone and get a feel of it yourself.

So, you are allowed to refuse on other weekends, just not this one?

Thanks for confirming my previous statements.

What I have heard about refusing to give blood on one of these weekends vs. any other is this: You can refuse to allow them to take blood anytime. The cop will have to get a warrant(which takes some time) and then they will take your blood. On "no refusal" weekends, they basically have the warrants rubber stamped and ready to go for possible drunk drivers.

I'm not going to argue the legality of it - just posting the hearsay that I have been told regarding this practice.

I don't give a fuck how drunk you are when you drive. I know people who can't drive stone sober. Who should you be mad at, the .09 that gets home safe or the .00 that ass ends you because he was not paying attention?

That said I have a 2 beer limit if I'm driving. Not because I can't drive with 3 in me, just because I don't need a dui.

EDIT: Oh, and FTP. Almost forgot!

I am not sure you are understanding completely. The no refusal weekends require a judge to be working 24 hours each of those days. Which of course will cost TONS of $ if you have them every day of the year. The difference with no refusal weekend is that their is a judge on duty, that can grant you a blood warrant if they refuse. So if you are voluteering to sign a check to your county to have a judge on 24/7 go right ahead. Also there are stepped up patrols just for DWIs. Sat and Sun night I was appointed to DWI patrol. I was only looking for people driving drunk. Other officers were answering calls.
