  • Smoked turkey

    I decided I'm going to smoke a turkey this year. Does anyone have any recommendations on the type of wood to use for smoking a turkey? Any help is appreciated.

      I'm doing two 12 pounders at home today and using mesquite. It's all personal preference to me.

        Not a fan of mesquite. Hickory or oak.

          It's definitely a preference. I personally wouldn't use oak, too strong for poultry. Apple would be my #1 choice followed by mesquite. Here's some reading for you:
