Best places to shop for 99-03 F250/350 w/7.3 Liter?

My BIL is looking for a 99-03 250/350 with the 7.3L power stroke. He has looked all over AutoTrader and C/L and hasn't found much. Any dealers in the area specialize in big trucks?

On a side note, is the 7.3 a good engine, not sure why he is drawn so strongly to this particular model so I figured someone might be able to school me on these things at the same time.

(his price range is somewhere between 12-18k depending on condition/miles/options/etc., and he is a die hard ford guy so save the "buy a cummins" because he wont )

I had a 95 F350 4x4 CC and it was a great truck. Brakes made it 100k a shot, clutch went 187k and was still working but shook a little on start up, and the motors can go 600k plus if treated right. I wish I would have never sold it. Not fast by any stretch but will get there and pull a heavy load with no problem. A/c would freeze you out also.

Texasmotorcars on Midway & Keller Springs. They alway have a great selection of trucks, including the 99-03 with the 7.3. I have one and love it, only other I would pick is the new 6.7l all Ford Diesel.

I got a good laugh out of it. We avoid the T444E like the plague when I'm shopping for used power line equipment. Good pickup motor, not so much for the heavy trucks, we have the best luck the the DT466. I go to the international house pretty regular and I didn't recall seeing any ford trucks on the shelf lol.
