Conlon's Pub has it on tap, really nice beer.

As for current easily obtainable favorites I'll go with a Dogfish Head IPA first, it's actually pretty easy to find at most decent bars these days. The 60 minute at least.

Otherwise for a drinking beer that's better than the big 3 I'll buy Victory's Golden Monkey, Rogue's Dead Guy or Chocolate Porter. I also really like Rahr's Stormcloud (IPA), for $2 more a 6 pack than Bud Light it's a bargain and you can find it at a lot of stores now. Their Bucking Bock is also pretty darned good.

Best beer period though in my opinion that you'll never find at a bar is Avery's Mephistopheles. If you can find it it'll be $6+ a bottle, technically it is a beer but really it should be in a different class. It's flavors are very complex and the alcohol content is very high, talking 16+ percent depending on the batch.

I watched Fritz Rahr play an acoustic set with two of his brewers on the loading dock last night, while drinking 3 pints of Stormcloud. Is that supporting Texas beer enough?

There are lots of Texas breweries and they all make good beers. St. Arnolds, Rahr, Real Ale, 512 brewing, Live Oak, Franconia (in McKinney) and Ranger Creek. Of course also the Spoetzl brewery in Shiner.

Live Oak's Primus is a great beer when they have it and 512's Black IPA is straight up awesomeness. I don't see how it's an IPA though. Compared to other IPAs it can't touch the offerings from Dogfish Head but as a black Ale it's pretty darned good.

I need to visit Franconia one day, they do tours on Saturdays at 11 for $5.

I like a lot of Texas beers and being from Texas I do what I can to support my state, especially the beer.

I love Bud Light Lime only in the summer. BUT, I have to say Miller Lite and for the heavy fatty beer.... Blue Moon!
