  • 18volt LI package deal ??

After 8 years of heavy use, my Dewalt 12v finally stripped out the clutch. I'm going to upgrade to 18v lithium ion. Anyone have any favorites? I don't really care about brand, as I would rather have reliability. I want to buy a package deal with a drill, reciprocating saw, impact driver, and a circular saw.

Any 18v LI combo deals coming out on black Friday?

Any brands to stay away from?

Not sure of any deals but I have the Makita ones and they work good.

I've had good luck with the milwaukee kits although the batteries don't seem to last as long as they once did. I'm sure you can't go wrong with a dewalt/ makita/ milwaukee.
It happens to be a well thought out and reasoned dissertation on drug use and a lyrical cost/benefit analysis of various kinds of drugs, drawing the conclusion that beer is the best of them all.

I buy rigid. Mine are used every day of the work week. Lifetime warranty. If I didn't care about the warranty I'd buy a milwaukee.

My guys tear up a dewalt in under 6 months usually. I switched to rigid and they average a little over a year, with one guy going on two years without being sent in. My biggest problem isn't the drill, but the batteries, which are also covered for life.

I have the hitachi 18v lithium ion drill..I love it, plus they have a lifetime guarantee and it is about 50bucks cheaper then the dewalt..Ive only had mine about 6 months though. My boss has had a hitachi for 8 years and is still going strong

I love my Ryobi kit and its not even the new stuff. I am going to get me a Li drill set this week because I want to try the new batteries and my drill has that special smell to it but still works fine. The whole set works great and I have had the set like 8 years I think. Only thing I have replaced at this point is batteries about every 4 years they start going bad. They are really cheap for a pair of new ones though. I have the Vacuum, light, skill saw, drill, saw zaw, radio, jig saw, stapler/nailer and a few batteries. All have worked very well. Plus when they upgraded they kept the same batteries so everyone would not have to buy all new crap.

I will say this though I only use the stuff about 3 or 4 times a year except the drill and light of course.

Oh and I looked at Lowes and Depot this morning and saw no sales.
