You can get another 10 cents off at walmart with a walmart gift card. We just put $100 on the gc every time we are in the store.

HAha, i used to do that all the time to get gas, go in there and get a gift for 20 bucks or so, then use it to get gas. ha

Putting gas back in the $2 range will do more good than sending out checks to everyone for $500.

My wife and I are on pace to spend around $9k on fuel this year, cut that in half and you better believe she will buy more shoes, and I'll buy more stuff also. That is more than we spend on food counting dining out a couple times a week.

And that isn't even the tip of the iceberg.

Besides consumer spending, there is the fact that prices of other goods have been driven up by fuel costs. It cost more to get everything to market.

Unfortunately this drop in prices will likely be short lived. The only thing that can put our energy prices back to something resembling sanity is to reign in the commodity speculators.
