Regular stops and walk around. We drive to Georgia twice a year and sometimes go to Tennessee first then to Georgia from there. Its a long haul for sure but my wife and I switch out every few hours and it works out.
It was much easier when I smoked though, when I started getting tired I would just roll the window down and light up. The cold air hitting me in the face and the smoke would help get me going again. Much harder now but I still roll the window down every once in a while.

Get lots of sleep the night before your drive. Upbeat music, snacks and cold drinks. If you have hands free bluetooth, you can chat on the phone with someone. Audio books is a good suggestion, soemthing to stimulate your mind like learning a new language or something. I only use the cruise control in the beginning of a trip when I am fresh too. If you use the cruise control while you're tired, it makes it much easier to get comfortable in return making you really sleepy. I also prefer to drive at night as much as possible. The heat tends to make me really sleepy on long trips. At night you can open the windows and enjoy the fresh country air.
Have a good trip Sneaky.

Pussy. I drove 22 hours straight by myself from Los Angeles to Fort Worth.
The trick is to get an early start and DO NOT drink anything caffeinated early in the trip. I left at 4:30am and by the time I was fully awake (9:30ish) I was outside of California. Throughout the day I drank a lot of water and ate somewhat light snacks like beef jerky. I really didn't get tired until about 2:30am and that's when I started drinking coffee. That last two hours was a BITCH, but it was 287 in the dark with almost no other cars on the road. I arrived at home at 4:30am the next day, having driven 1497 miles in 22 hours (68mph average ).When the government pays, the government controls.

I have driven from L.A. to dallas, dallas to baltimore, baltimore to dallas, and dallas to miami. All them non stop except for gas and food. I like to leave at night, less traffic and when i start getting tired the sun is usually coming up. Had a dvd player in my truck so I would watch movies. Have lots of snacks and soda with you.07 GT500

Driven to FL and Co many times back in the day. Had people in the car, but I don't like other people driving the Impala, so I was behind the wheel the whole way. Conversation and stops to see the sights is a must.
We love to stop at odd side of the road attractions or short detours to less travelled roads to see the sights and keep things interesting instead of straight interstate.G'Day Mate
