It is far worse to allow an innocent person to be convicted. If you send an innocent person to prison either there was never a crime to begin with or the true criminal is still free and you have created another victim.

The reason the burden of proof is on the prosecution is to avoid this situation.

i always wonder this, but big cases like this always have good lawyers. how does she afford a good lawyer? does the lawyer do it cheep knowing if he wins he can charge more in future cases?
