Anyone have a 4 stroke gas trimmer?

I've got a 4stroke cub cadet that hasn't let me down in the 2 or so years I've had it. I didn't want the hassle of a 2stroke. I need to get a straight shaft end cause I'm slightly bent over the whole time.

Has anyone used one of those attachments (edger,trimmer, blower) and are they worth buying? A buddy bought the leaf blower attachment and says its pretty worthless

I put my SAW sling on mine and it's fine. I can use it an hour without too much issue

i jsut got one. wierd but the head spins the opposite way that the 2stroke did.

Buy a Stihl 4 Mix. I sold Stihl for over 9 years back when I was in retail for a independent shop. Nothing compares to it. Echo comes in a close second. But, a Stihl 4 mix is a four stroke trimmer that runs on two stroke mix. It does not have a crank case for oil so you can hold it any direction you like. IT does have a cam ect.... But, also your going to be spending $300 plus for a stihl 4 mix.

But, it will also be the last trimmer you buy if you maintain it properly and will walk all over any other trimmer sold at ALL mass merchants like Home Depot ect.....

FYI, the people that dont like the 4 stroke trimmers that are Ryobi, Troy Bilt, Cub Cadet those are all crap in most cases. There all owned by MTD Corporation. They just put a different name on them and plastics.

Still using my 12 year old Stihl 2 stroke trimmer. It still runs like it was new with just regular maintenance.

I have the troy built commercial series from Lowes. So far it has been great. Has tons of torque, and weight is about the same as a two stroke..

We had a Ryobi and its the best, or any 4 cycle wil do. They require little to no upkeep, you dont have to winterize them, less nose, less vibration and excellent gas MPG(?). Only con is that they are a little heavy(er) but the good out weigh the bad. The Ryobi we had is a convertable and can accept multiple heads, small chainsaw, edger, bush trimmer and blower, all can be interchanged in a matter of minutes too.

Don't understand your problems with the 2 stroke? I have a Craftsman 2 stroke and it's going on 6 years old now. Still works like the day I bought it. Has nothing to do with the gas you're using. It has to do with maintenance and if you winterize it or not at the end of each season. And I've noticed better performance on 40:1 vs. 32:1 oil.

And on my lawn mower, I use those gas caps with the sure start inserts and it starts first pull almost every time.
