I'm less a hoverer, than a beer fetcher, and stand around and bullshitter, but that's only if I know you. If I'm just at a shop getting tires or something, I'll read 3 year old car mags until it's time to pay up. No reason to sweat a dude down the dude that's working on my car.

I work fine under pressure so it dosen't really bother me but sometimes it can get annoying. Mostly with the motormouth type. When I need something done I am not capable of doing I am usually close by but do not hover over them. My wife on the other hand will be all in that ass if she feels like something is not right.

The absolute worst ones are the "while you are here..." types. If i've got a guy onsite to fix an issue, thats their focus - you do not have your hooks in them. I do. And they are there to do a job, not your fucking wish list.
Just had an engineer onsite at a client to fix a clients email server that went offline fri nite. Was getting late (10pm) and as they were finishing up, the client tried to get him to start doing a bunch of piddly shit across the office. My guy pushed it back to say we could schedule it for next week (good) but somehow the client got my personal cell phone number and called me about 30min ago to bitch about how the customer is always right blah blah blah. Once i told him that if the engineer did start increasing the scope of work, that visit was going to be billable at the weekend overtime rate. I dont care what you want done, 450 an hour aint worth anything you want done.

Depends, I've got some customers that aren't too bad. On the othe hand I have some customers that I'll just add extra to the bill, because my time equals money. They use more of my time by bothering me, therefore I charge more money. I try not to hover as I don't like it being returned. 14 years of doing auto repair at an independant shop has taught me this.

I hate when some one watch me working on his car on the shop, but dont bother me if they watch me when I working at home or his home, if they are nice, and polite, not assholes. if some one ask me whay I'm doing that I'll answer, because he cant do it any way.
