A more effcient engine is a better engine in my book.

    A 604 10.0 liter super cobra jet engine makes 900 n/a hp.

    Lol

A Chrysler Hemi with stock block, crank, and heads can make 2500hp. Who can top that?

It really comes to down to cylinder head efficiency. The 5.0 liter 4V has a good setup, thus it makes good power for its size. It doesn't matter the make of the engine, it is the head that matters and how many cubes are under it. Take a near 600 CI BBF with a wedge head and build it up for maximum power, like with Kaase's P51 head and you can get to 1000 hp N/A. Change the pistons and intake and put on a hemi head and there is just no comparison, often times the hemi head will pick up close to 200 more hp. You can do that same comparison with a Chevy or a Dodge and their various heads. That is why many types of heads are outlawed in various classes and why the 351C 4V was and still is a bad ass bastard for an OEM head.

          Can make.

What does it make n/a? I'm sure it can hold the power.

But it's not going to make 2500 with out a poweradder.

If that's the case check out Nelson racing engines. They have a 2500hp Tt SBC DOHC 32v!

Anyone who would put a GM motor in a ford should have their head chopped off. WTF happened to brand loyalty? Oh yeah, and there is no way you could make 500hp on a LSx motor with just a camshaft change. The MAF/TB/injectors/intake/cylinder heads, and the rest of the rotating assembly would never take the abuse, especially N/A. Plus they all sound like a fucking farm truck, the aftermarket parts are high, and they all have piston slap.

Maybe people modding cars want to use the best parts out there? Any common SBC and LSx will make more power than any boat anchor Ford could, GM engines are also more reliable. While people are putting GM engines in Fords, they are also putting GM transmissions in the cars; they are stronger and trouble free as well. The GM rear ends suck unless it's 12 bolt but at least Ford has something that's worth a damn powertrain wise. I say a 79-04 Mustang with a GM engine/trans and 8.8 rear end is the best combo out there. Fast, reliable, and cheaper.

I am first in line. Brand loyalty? WTF is that? If Ford is putting Chinese transmissions in cars then I would rather have quality over loyalty any day. What about using Ford parts on a Chevy? I have done that as well and will probably do it again in the near future.

You call ford a boat anchor but they make the same power and are smaller, I think the GM engines would hold a boat better. Lol

The engine does it on 91 octane.

Ford IMO has always been a few steps ahead on technology, in not just engines but in the whole assembly line thing and all that...

Displacement vs hp arguments are stupid. If you can make more usable power, do it with less money, have more reliability and get better fuel economy would you still want to go with the smaller displacement engine just out of brand loyalty?

Look at Indy and Nascar. They make the same power but the open wheel cars do it with 3.5L DOHC V8s and the redneck series uses 5.8L pushrod engines. Would it make any sense for Dale Jr to run the DOHC V8 when the old school stuff makes a crap ton more torque and gets the same economy just because he likes Honda?

have you ever seen an ls1 next to a 4.6 dohc? smaller? how do you keep making this stuff up? the 7.0l ls7 looks like a baby next to the behemoth 4.6 dohc.

the ls1 is similar in size to a sbf, ya, ford makes much smaller motors

That NASCAR weighs a ass load more and has more air drag than a Indy car. So it needs the torque. They are also 5.9l 360ci engines.

They use the pushrod engines because thats the rules.
