    First off Ford's number is over rated and chevy's are usually under rated. Now even with your numbers start modding both motors and tell me how big that gap in performance gets with every dollar spent. LS motor respond EXTREMELY well to mods while mod motors......dont.

    5.0l DOHC makes 412hp and a 6.2l makes 426hp?

    Based off power ford has it in the bag IMO. They do the same power with over 1000cc less. That's impressive.
    But they dont! At the end of the day , the 5.0 is still a 5.0 and makes less power than the 6.2l that is a 6.2. Not to mention, "free mods" and the LS motors response to mods proves the motors are choked down from the factory for smog and insurance purposes.

    So yeah you can throw a cam in a ls1 and make power, it's got 1100 more cc!
    It has alot more to do with it than the size. Like Al mentioned earlier, its all in the heads and how efficient the LS design is.

    Add the displacement with a small roots charger (03 cobra) and the ls1 gets bit by the snake!

                      CRF50 engine w/:
                      124 Superhead w/ one off JE piston and stroker crank, puts it to 138cc, Oversized valves One off de-comp built by Loganbuilt 28MM carb

                      Makes 18hp

                      5.0l = 5000cc's

                      5000 cc's/ 138 cc's= 36.2

                      18hp x 36.2 = 652.17hp normally aspirated.

                      the crf50 is the baddest engine ever according to mike!

                        I had a CRF50 with a 88ci kit on it. Scariest shit EVAR!! It would high chair with me on the bars no problem!!

                          i have a tb superhead 88cc and it is a lot of fun. i have it geared for top speed (smallest rear sprocket 31 tooth and largest fron 18 tooth) and it'll still highchair in 1st easy (and second if you can get weight transfer). My BIL has a 117 stroker that is stretched and it will out run me on a honda 400ex quad that is modded. it feels insane.

                                If ford makes comparable power with over 1000cc less, that would make them more efficient would it not?

                                A STOCK Mach 1 put down 320rwhp and 330 torque.

                                So much for that over rated.
