Sam's Club ID check

Why do they bother checking your card when you are on the way in? If you don't have a membership, you can't buy anything. So is it really necessary to bottleneck everyone at the door so you can glance at the card?

I made it through on 2 occasions without showing, but this last time the midget running the door followed me 50-60 yards into the store to make sure I had a card.


Does this annoy anyone else?
