    Why the IS300 hate?

    Dad has one with 109k
Sister has one with 40k ish
Best Friend's Wife has one with 110k+

All three purchased new and and all three still run great and have run great the whole time with zero issues at all.

I drive my dads every so often and think its a nice car. Id own one if I had a need for a sedan.

Dated interior (even for a Lexus of its time), slow, poor fuel economy, cramped back seat, insurance premiums are higher than other cars in its class.

The n/a 2jz engine is pretty much bullet proof and the car is attractive, but everything else about the car is a turn off.

I wanted one BAD about 5 years ago, but when I did some research on it, I quickly changed my mind for the things I mentioned above.

I'd argue with you on that one. I guess I can see something to it, but I just can't get over that funky front end. It's like they designed only that part at 3/4 scale and just stuck it on the car.

Id like to hear it too, never had one issue with our '03 FX35, owned it from 45k to 90k miles and 4 years, changed the oil, trans fluid once and cleaned the afe drop in air filter from time to time.
Just traded it in on an '07 FX35 and no fears here.....

Honestly its been on of the lowest maintenance cars weve owned.

I could understand something being pricey if a major part went out on a higher mileage unit, but after not having one hiccup, and on a first year of a new model no less, I gotta say theyre some decent vehicles.

I hovered over the TA, and before reading the replies, I thought, "I can't believe I'm about to click TL instead". Newer, better gas mileage, more reliable, and just much nicer inside and out. I dgaf if it's slow. I would pimp it out, too, just because.

Then again, I'd be miserable driving any small to medium-sized car.

I don't feel so bad after seeing so many votes for it. My younger self would have definitely picked TA.

It's driving me crazy! But as soon as we get that fixed, I'll be good. No mechanical issues and drives like a champ. It has a good amount of power and gets up and moves when I need it to. I love my car!

Any tips on the brakes would be appreciated.
Are you using honda/acura pads? Those are known to be loud.

the 04-08's actually arent that bad power wise. our 07 will get up and go pretty damn good for a v6. and the only time i can tell its a fwd is when im accelerating through a corneer, and even then the vsa smooths alot of the torque steer out and you dont notice. Honda/acura's double wishbone suspension is sweet. rides fucking superb, and handles very well all things considered. going down to austin i was going 75+ the whole was and got 31 mpg with the ac on.

trying to convince the woman that her car needs 19s, limo tint and a banging system, but she aint buying it LOL. Been kicking around the idea of picking up a 01-03 TL-S thats had the tranny recall done as a daily, but they're still a little more pricey than i would like. Im getting sicck of driving the Trans Am every day, but it still runs FANTASTIC for a 13 year old car with 168k!

No, we replaced them with the best O'reilly's carries. Twice. We thought the first set was because we didn't turn the rotors, so we took them back, got a new set, turned the rotors and put anti-squeal and they STILL squeal! Arrgh!

try having chili bevel the leading and trailing edges of the pads that are squealing with a file. has worked for me before. btw are they ceramic or metallic/semi metallic?

that anti squeal stuff they sell doesnt work very well. one car i had i used a little high temp grease and it stopped.

It looks better than a 1st gen g35 sedan

Still driving the '03 TL-S with zero issues at 61k miles. Fwiw, you can check the vin # on the '03s and see if it has the "problem" tranny or not. Sad to say, it feels like it has some balls when it needs it.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
