people always ask if the Torino is for sale. I say no, then they say they'll give x amount for it at which point I just laugh in their face.

The GTO on the other hand would be sold if anyone made a real offer on it, I'm not attached to it.

I keep looking wistfully more and more at a new Boss Mustang, but its still out of the cards. If i had the money to do it it, i would trade my old cobra in for a new Boss and be in a car that's better built than one that rolled out of the ford factory when the best technology ford could offer was an in dash CD player and out of a chassis designed when 8 tracks were the shit.

I'd have to say, if there was anyone on this board who deserved a new Stang, it would definetely be you.

I would think if someone put all the time and money into something they would enjoy it. Just always wondered that, sure there is the money thing, but you knew that going in.

There have been quite a few people on these boards that have done that.
Most of the fun is in building them.

piss on that... the fun is driving them. I let other people spend all the time/money building them and then buy them for pennies on the dollar

I modified my current daily driver (Mach 1) with a few bolt-ons between 2004 and 2005 and intend to keep and use it as is until it dies.

                    Different reasons people do it.

With my RX7 I dumped two years of work and $17,000 into it and got bored so I bought a Cobra.
Dumped $15k into the Cobra and got bored so I bought a Vette.

Down the road I bought an 03 Cobra and had 25k into it and my idiot father stole it and sold it for $12k..... he is now in prison.

Spent over a year and 12k on my last Mark VIII supercharging it and stuff then lost my job so I was forced to sell it.

This Mark VIII I will prolly dump close to 15k into it then get bored and sell it. LOL

True, I have about 4-5 times what it's worth into my '00 Mustang that I have had since new and built from stock. I bought my '01 Vette with everything done to it and even the book value now is what I paid for it a couple years ago.
