  • powder coat or re-chrome wheels

I bought a 95 Lightning over the weekend and it came with Gen 2 style chrome wheels but the finish is in really bad shape. I'd like to find some OE Lightning wheels but haven't had much luck so I might be keeping these. Does anyone have any recommendation for powder coating? I'm thinking that would be cheaper that having them redipped in chrome and either is ok with me...I'm going for low cost. what does something like that run for four wheels?

I don't think chrome is going to be cheaper. Most places I've seen can powdercoat a wheel for ~$50 depending on how hard it is to get the old chrome off.

I would think chrome is a shit ton more than that. I've got 4 old school cragars I want to rechrome but I'm scared to look at the prices.

My experince is 10 yrs old, but quality powdercoating did all 4 of mine for 20-25 per wheel. As far as i know, they still look brand new.
