I still think Ford's biggest mistake was releasing the 2010 Mustang without the upgraded powertrains.
I like both cars from a styling perspective but I do prefer the Mustangs more conservative approach. The Camaro is a big cartoonish for my tastes.
As for the Mustang's plant, there has been talk that the platform for the 2014 model will have IRS and be shared with a sedan (possibly a RWD Lincoln). That would help take up the extra capacity. Additionally, Ford can pretty much put any other car in there. It doesn't have to share the Mustang's platform...
The Mustang is in no danger. Ford appears to have big plans for the 2014.
