  • Cheap new car with good mileage

Getting tired of driving the truck everyday. Coming up on 100k miles. Looking to buy another vehicle that is easy to drive around, good mileage and most of all cheap.

What do you guys suggest? The new Focus is nice but north of $17k.. the Fiesta is a bit cheaper at $15k. Kia Forte sedan could be had around $13k. Plan on putting $2000-3000 down and would like $150 payments. That should put me around $13k-14k or so to spend. I prefer newish over style.

Are you going to trade your truck? Trade in values are pretty kick ass right now...

I like the Focus and the Fiesta. I've driven both and I really dig them. The Sync in the Focus is a bit busy but I think anyone can get used to it...

Also, the Chevy Cruze Eco get's 42mpg. However I drove a rental and hated it. It could just be that one car though. IMO the Focus is a much nicer car with a better ride and MUCH better handling.

You might also want to look at the Hyundai Elantra. The new one is pretty good looking.

Oh yea, he's right. Unless it's a lease, you're looking at a $10000 car to get that payment with a GOOD interest rate..

The elantra earned top marks in every small car comparo it's been in based on the combination of styling, fuel economy, and standard equipment.

I would buy the newest 4cyl Accord you can afford.

My wife's 06 has been fucking spectacular. About to turn 100k with zero unscheduled maint. I've been seriously consdering an 03+. They're timing chain, so no belt to worry about.

It has JUST enough power to do what it needs to, but not enough to hurt itself. I can set the cruise control at 95-105mph and pull down 25-27mpg and it does it drama free.

This. You can never go wrong with a used Honda. It could have 350k on it, as long as its had the oil changed and the T-Belt changed at the correct intervals it will last forever.

Truth. 98-02 accords are the most bulletproof hondas ever built. id say the 03-07 falls right in line behind it.

You can get a new Jetta for $15,995. Those get good mileage.

and don't listen to people who tell you to buy a "cash car" fuck that!!! I just bought a new car and parked my truck. I bought a Chevrolet Cruze and it gets 32 MPG. I pay for convenience so buying a new car was the only option for me. Plus I take clients out for lunch and I am not pulling up in front of their office in Highland park in a 91 Civic. That's just me though. If you can handle a little bit more payment I highly recommend the Cruze. It's a cool car.
