I'm going. Should be fun! I'll post pics, if any good ones. I agree with all the negativity here... they may not ever do it again.
    I build websites. PM me.

I don't think that is always the case.

It drives me insane when I hear someone say "we did it!"

<--- I don't say "We did it". But I see absolutely nothing with supporting a team, sports as a hobby, etc. It's no different than any other hobby or time waster. Pretty fucking cheap, too.

Really? Why let something like that bug you?

I mean, I get that the fans didn't actually get out there on the court and score any points, but if they are true fans, and support their team, and cheer for them, etc, then what's the big deal? I'm sure the athletes don't mind at all, so why should you? In fact, most athletes I've heard comment on it will say that they did it for their fans, couldn't have done it without their fans, blah blah blah... I have no doubt that the players, coaches, true fans, and anyone else involved have a collective feeling like they all accomplished something together. When a fan says "we did it!", I doubt they actually feel like they personally had a real influence on the end result, but instead, they feel deeply connected to their team. Nothing wrong with that. You gotta be pretty tightly wound to take it any other way or take any issue with it, imo.

My comments are directly related to some people I know that have never watched basketball and are now MFFL. I ignore most things but that just gets under my skin.

I'd be much more interested in a celebration party, held inside the AAC that cost a few bucks to get in. (free to season ticket holders). Try to keep the riff raff to a minimum.

Lets hope this parade isn't like the first cowboys one. Stabbings, shootings, and general shenanigans aren't the best way to show your pride in the city / team.

I don't know, just google images for riot and stumbled on it.

Hopefully everyone will behave, but with large groups, who knows.

Ya, those people are pretty silly.

It is entertainment, it gives something to people to feel good about and support. With the heat series it even took on the good vs evil aspect, where the good guys need to prevail. It has been tough times for a lot of folks out there so I don't blame people for being bandwagon fans, and wanting to share in a happy moment for our team.

It is exclusive to season ticket holders only. There are no tickets to buy, unless those season ticket holders are selling them.

At the conclusion of the parade, a special season ticket holder only event will be held inside American Airlines Center. The event will be broadcast live on the AT&T Plaza HD big-screen TV.

That's what I heard this morning, too. Season ticket holders only. Maybe it changed?

Hell, there are some season ticket holders here at my work who are attending the parade, and they haven't received any information about it at all, other than what is on the news.

Wish I could get in for that.
