I don't think it was so much as stubborn as it was a lack of an ass-whoopin'. Korea was pretty much a tie. One side or the other needed to be beat down to decide anything and that didn't happen.

North Korea preaches reunification so much it is engrained in those peoples phsyche. They have been programmed to think that is the natural course of action and if need be war is a possible solution to the problem.

skimmed this thread
N Korea uses it military might and defiance to posture for things like food, and money. The bad news is they just built a new nuclear enrichment facility, with dozens of centrifuges that could be used for nuke grade materials
S Korea is also posturing with the US as they failed to sign a trade deal with the Obama.
Which makes me wonder why we keep 30k odd troops there? Are they paying for that support? If not I say pull the troops out and nuke N Korea from orbit

of course, if our allies and us had won, then we wouldn't have to be worrying about nuclear issues, poisoning of kids toys, gas consumption rising and alot of other issues right now.
hmmmmmm oh how the world would have been different.

South Korea is a very critical trading partner and their existence in beneficial. If it weren't for our troops having a constant presence then long ago the North would have overrun the South during its developmental period. North Korea has the 5th largest standing army on the planet and has the most reserves of any country. Sure, they are behind most of the 1st world technologically, but they still could do some damage.Originally posted by lincolnboyAfter watching Games of Thrones, makes me glad i was not born in those years.

No matter how you cut it, we don't want those two going at it. The death toll would be something the US has not seen in recent (last 40 years) history.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.
