      • Man, apparently they got that super secret surface paver in and out already, because Charlie Whiting just approved the track surface earlier this week.

What state funding for the USGP? That's been scratched. And the funding from the TES wasn't scratched FOR this race at any point anyway, as far as I know.

                    • I have a spare grandstand seat for the race that isn't happening if anyone is interested, and I'll let it go for whatever it was that I paid for it.

                      • Would love to go, but that means no couch. No climate control. No cheap beer.

But. To hear a motor spin 18,000 rpms over and over may be worth it.
                        Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

Tough to argue with that. I'm fully expecting to not enjoy the race itself as much while I'm there, but from everyone I've talked to the atmosphere is well worth it. I also needed to get in a race before they switch to the god-awful V6s in 2014 (which even Bernie himself said sound terrible) and what little of the panache that exists is gone.

                          • interesting reading, after messing with these modern 600cc motorcycle engines the last few years, it brings it all into perspective that the v8 f1 engine of today has a .100" shorter stroke lol.

                            • After this weekends race, Cota might be a great race after all. Championship implications are there.

                              • That was a heck of a race. Those of you going to the Austin race are in for a dramatic race, for sure.
