if you read FIA rules and regulations you will know right quick, that is not the pavement that will be raced on. FIA requires a seamless surface, of which it takes a special machine, which both that exist in the world are not in the United States at the moment....
You know your cars and tracks for damn sure. But you don't know your logistics lol. First, it would be easy to get the pavers over here with a little money. Second, I wouldn't be surprised of it was a custom machine and or process.
I know nothing of track creation and preparation bit found this article neat. How consistent is this information?

Well, all that fake money has gotten this fake facility underway.
Yup! Promoter is gambling a bit unless they got a waiver from bernie. I was told the specified asphalt could not be bought in the states.....good thing is the av8 supercar series will run on anything! That is what i am saving my ticket dollars for!
Is this not literally how each of the last 3 or 4 new venues have gone in F1? Hell, Korea wasn't inspected and given the go ahead by the FIA until a week before its first fucking Formula 1 GP! India was only finished two weeks before its inaugural race and Abu Dhabi was finished within a month of its race date.

korea was a cluster fuck. everything around the track was mud, hopefully that doesnt happen here. india did a great job.
Amazing race. I thought mclaren was about to blow it again. The 5 sec pit stop on the 2nd stop combined with Alonso flying on the next two laps... I figured Ferrari would pit and try to take the lead.
Race in Austin might have a lot at stake in who wins the championship.

A few more laps and Grosjean might have had a chance to catch Hamilton, which would have been something.
Edit: But dude, Austin can't have an impact on the championship because it's not happening. Duh.
All I can say is that this season has been fantastic so far!!! I've watched every race from practice to checkers and can't remember a better season in recent history. (20+ years). Just fantastic.
Super late in the race and you come in for super softs?!?!?! WTF?!?!?!? What a pay off!! Hamilton winning in Canada, on strategy, that was deemed as "Oh Boy Oh Boy"!?!?!
Love this sport!

FIA safety delegate Charlie Whiting is confident the Circuit of the Americas, which will host the US Grand Prix later this year, is making good progress to be ready on time.
Despite contract issues bringing work to a brief halt over the winter, construction at the Circuit of the Americas is back in full swing, with Whiting hoping to complete his formal track inspection two months ahead of the November 18 race date. After visiting the circuit this week, he is confident the race will be a success.
"It is clear that the significant resources Circuit of The Americas has committed to completing this facility on time and to FIA specifications is making a difference," a Circuit of the Americas statement quoted Whiting as saying. "The more than 500 construction workers on site daily are making great progress, and I plan to return to Austin at the end of August for an update. My formal pre-race inspection is set for Sept. 25, which is 60 days before the scheduled start of the Formula One United States Grand Prix.
"From the world-class motorsports facilities and fan areas to the racecourse itself, which promises to be one of the most challenging new additions to our season, I believe Circuit of The Americas has the ability to put on a great show and spectacular Grand Prix in its inaugural year. I look forward to my next visit in August."
I want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
