On the water? Yes. There's some retarded rules about drinking on shore though.

And of course, BWI is always a very real possibility.

There are signs up that say no consumption, but then I also read where its allowed as long as you are not near sidewalks, parking or roads.

Was thinking about getting some of the family together and chill on the lake and have a few. Probably on tubes. Dont feel like taking the boat out.

Man lakes and beer just go together. Unfortunately cops have a different view. With out a boat you should be ok as long as you stay under the radar.

it's Grapevine police policy to follow the judge's ruling

That's a tad sexist. Woman lakes and beer go together too!

Technically you can't drink on Lake Lewisville or PK but the game wardens look the other way as long as you aren't being a dumb ass. I have had a few "safety inspections" on Lake Lewisville by Game Wardens and have had alcohol on my boat every time and the only questions I have been asked were about glass containers and if I can safely operate my boat. I have also camped at several state parks which don't allow alcohol and as long as you have common sense you will be fine. Poor your beer in solo cups or whatever.

And, as it turns out, a Grapevine municipal judge backs him up.

About a year ago, a man fought a ticket he got for drinking at a Grapevine Lake Park. While a city ordinance bans drinking in city parks, the judge pointed out there's another ordinance that makes an exception for the lakeside parks.
I guess you missed that in the two links above.

I've spent the past 3 summers out on grapevine and I've seen the park ranger, game warden, and GPD give more tickets for people who don't have proper equipment on board than giving out tickets for drinking and boating or public intoxication.
