I just get out and beat the SoBs with my tire buddy, throw 'em back in their car, put it in neutral and shove it out of the way.

Hell, I don't even own a diesel and I do that on principle.

i try to give people the benefit of the doubt. i think gas pump rudeness is due to ignorance and stupidity as opposed to purpose maliciousness...
was there plenty of truck parking? if not i cant say he was at fault. i know how it is working in the oifield. we may go 24-36 hours w/out being able to leave a location so we have to spend some time in the store getting enough food/drinks to last.

I was throwing out 100 bucks because that's what the diesel owners proclaim it costs to change the oil. i can go with 70, still twice as expensive as an oil change for my truck.

Ya'll can argue the points all you want, but hands down as a fact a diesel truck costs more to own and operate than a gas truck. period. it's 50 cents more a gallon, the oil changes are more, fuel filters are more, any maintenance is more, etc etc..

I don't drive one because I didn't think I needed something that large or heavy duty. My f150 will do just about anything i need it to, and it's much better off-road than a superduty. seems like a win-win for my situation.

diesel isn't 50 cents more per gallon...at least not anywhere that i fill up at. 15-20 cents, usually. most places that i go, it's about the same price as mid-grade...also, don't forget that the oil change is more, but you have to change it much less frequently. it's a little more to maintain a diesel, but not as much as people make it out to be.

I will admit i don't pay attention to diesel, but i could have sworn i saw regular for 3.59 yesterday and diesel going for 3.99. I could be a little off though.

Either way, i dont care what you people drive.. but it does make me giggle when i see a f250/350 with all the ranchhand, rancho, etc goodies on it, and the undercarriage is immaculate. no trailer ball, no 5th wheel, just one 160lb guy in his 10gal hat driving around like king of the road.

you do know that the trailer hitches that slide into the receiver can be removed to prevent theft when not towing a trailer, right?

you know they make a $8 locking hitch pin, right?

but yes, i do. you can tell when a receiver is used, as the paint usually gets rubbed and worn off, surface rust forms, etc.

                        • I want to use Kyle's old lady's trailer hitch.

But anyway, more on topic, for my Cummins truck the fuel filter is $8, oil filters are about $5 each and it holds three gallons of oil. All the filters are super easy to change. The truck can go 7500 miles between oil changes. The owners manual says you can 15000 if you don't pull anything but I wouldn't do it. Besides that there really isn't much difference between it and a gas truck for maintenance.

                            LOL!

I did notice while at lunch that diesel was only about 33¢ more than regular.

Yea, it is abnormally high this summer. Usually in summer it is about $.10 cheaper than regular unlead then in winter it is about $.10 more than super.

Back before the EPA decided that we should all use low sulpher diesel it was always cheap as shit.

But the trucks get really good gas mileage, mine averages 19.5 in city driving.

I haven't seen diesel cheaper than gas (regardless of grade) in years. I remember when diesel was cheaper but that hasn't been in several years.
