  • 3 a.m.

    I've taken some time off work, taking a little staycation and it's starting to bug me now that I keep waking up at 3am every single morning! I can go to bed at 12 or 2am and still wake up at 3 ish. It sucks cause my fam. is also on vacation, so when they're up and ready to do something, I want to take a nap. This sucks! I've actually been like this for a few years now, just sucks cause it's summer time and I'm trying not to be the wet blanket. You guy have a similar problem?

    That happens to me all the time, as a matter of fact in the last 3 days I've slept a total of 9 hours. I have no issues falling asleep, but I can't seem to stay asleep for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

        Maybe I need to start drinking again. Seems like the only time I get some decent sleep is when I've knocked back a beer or 3

            Melatonin helps me get back on track when I get off track due to work or other issues. I take about 6mg (think mg) about an hour before I want to sleep and then wake up the next morning with the alarm feeling good.

                That stuff is great. It helps me get sleep out to sea, and I flew to Bahrain a few months back and was worried about getting back on track. I took I think about 6 mg of it when I got on the plane and was fine.

                    4 oclock is my number. Been doin it for years. Im just use to it I guess, and I love to be active, so it usually doesnt keep me from the family activities.

                      I have the opposite problem. My body has a natural noon alarm clock, no matter what time I go to sleep. Unless I have to get up for work, I sleep until noon no problem.

                        Once I get my 7 hrs I'm up. Doesn't matter what's going on or where I'm at. Kinda sucks on saturdays when we don't have the kiddo and I want to sleep in, but I'm up with the sun.

                            Though alcohol may help you stay asleep longer, it's been proven that the sleep is no where near as restful when intoxicated. Maybe try a beer or two and see if that helps.

                            I second the Melatonin, but it's not a "sleep aid" in that it doesn't work immediately. Melatonin helps regulate your sleep cycle, so you have to take it continuously, and lay down at the same time each night. Don't expect it to knock you out, but you should start sleeping better after a few days of taking it.
