Just got a ticket

Just got my first ticket. (I'm 24) It was on the highway, speed limit is 55, everyone runs 65 to 70, but he got me at 70. I was breaking the law so I was wrong, I don't have a problem with that before all of the cops chime in. I'm just curious if I can "pre-pay" and still do something to keep it off of my record for insurance purposes? It's in VA but I figure if I can get any insight to ask the courts about when I finally get a hold of someone it would be better than nothing. Thanks in advance.

It might help that my father in law was a big time lawyer in Va Beach. He is lead council for Dollar Tree now though. I'm sure he still has some connections, just don't want to ask if it's not that big of a deal.

I just talked to the accounting people for the city. And they said that if I pre pay it, I am submitting a guilty plea so it WILL go on my record. If I wanted to do the deferred adjudication I will have to talk that over with the judge in court. Only problem is that I've heard the judges are kind of rough out here, lol. Worst case scenario is going to be $156.00 as far as fine and court costs. Plus whatever my insurance does.

Also, just talked to the wife, and the father in law never did any type of traffic court stuff, mostly commercial stuff. So that one's out the window.
