    Man that situation is really sad all the way around.

    Parents lost a son playing a simple little game of baseball.
    A kid is going to have to deal with knowing the ball he threw killed someone.
    A coach has to feel responsible because he just put the kid in harms way by telling him to bunt.
    The family will always be left wondering what if. What if he didn't play that day? What if he would have just moved? What if, what if, what if

        I doubt those heart protectors would have made a difference in this case. That plate is tiny, and made for pitchers. When I first saw them my immediate thought was "that's it?" All pitchers in my son's league had to wear them, batters did not.

          Sad, indeed. The outcome would have most likely been the same if was wearing a chest protector. Even if they would have had an AED on site, the odds were stacked against him.
