I got a speeding ticket on my bike today, and i couldn't see the cops car, because it was backed up on a side street where you couldnt see it. He was hiding behind a telephone pole on the main road with a radar

I know i was in the wrong for speeding

I am just curious as to how legitimate his tactics were

It is kind of like my wife trying to tell me Cops are required to keep lights on on the side of the road at night while radaring.

Ummmmmm, I'm pretty sure cops have airplanes and helicopters to take radar, have you ever been to Oklahoma? That seems to be pretty legal and evasive.

Dont mean to be a dick dude, but cops can use evasive tactics unfortunately. If they didnt they would never catch anyone.

I think it depends on the state. Such as being able to hide behind a billboard to radar you when you pass or from behind instead of being in plain view ahead of the vehicle you're radaring.

But then again I'm sure I'm as misinformed like most and I'll let the board officer chime in. :P

And also a telephone poll doesn't exactly block a car

Get a good attorney and fight it. Anyone worth their weight in salt can usually get the ticket knocked down at least, if not, get you off of it. I don't know where you are, but I recommend Randall Scott (972-264-4000) if you're in the DFW area.
