T- 21 days until Colorado (part 1) anyone else headed to higher elev?

Cannot wait for the mountains, the air, cool weather. Anyone else headed up there this summer? Where are you staying? We are going to Lake Vallecito then to lake city.

My courses start 8/15 at DU. I'm finished at UNT 7/8 so I should have a month or so up there to get settled in.

I'll be on Lake Tahoe (Incline Village / Crystal Bay) next weekend.
The gf and I need a mental break from DFW so we're flying up Saturday morning, hanging out lakeside all day, hotel on the water and flying back Sunday.


I'll probably get back to FoCo / Rocky Mtn Nat Park later in the summer for some hiking.

I am really in a fog trying to plan a vacation this year and we have been thinking of New Mexico and/or Colorado. This would be a road trip with my wife and 4 & 5 yo in the car. I am at a loss for planning though.

I just got off the phone with my wife; I think we are going to plan a week in Colorado this September. My folks have a condo in Winter Park they have owned for 10+ years and I have never seen it. I figure we can stay there a few days and camp the rest. Our only delima is whether or not to take our dogs.

Have fun seeking higher elevation.....I am sitting at 5,600' right now myself.
