Man I freaking hate transport companies! Ive tried shipping all my cars and every time its something. Thats why I ended up driving to vegas to pick up my jeep. They are all freaking crooks!
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.
It's generally been said, but it could be a 10,000 pound car with no brakes and they should still accept responsibility. They agreed to haul it, so they should be responsible for the damages.
Hell, no brakes is a good reason to have a car hauled in the first place!

Indiana to Texas. But the truck is currently in Michigan, going the opposite direction. The car has been riding in the back of the truck for a week now.
x2 If it's a fairly small company then this tends to happen.
Also, the companys I was dealing with were nothing but the middle man. They would quote me a price and delivery date before they even had a truck booked yet.
"You don't so much drive it, more like poke it with a sharp stick and channel the fury when you piss it off."

That's extremely common, just about every load goes through a 3pl or brokerage anymore!
Well i just got a call from the car transport company. They're moving my 62 Galaxie i bought from Indiana. Apparently the straps broke and the car went forward and hit the front of the trailer. The lady that called tried to blame it on the car, parking brake doesn't work, transmission popped out of gear, the car is heavy, ect. Bullshit, your fucking driver didn't strap it down well. And on top of that the car "was" supposed to be here tomorrow. But now they're telling me maybe Sunday.
This is the first time i've ever transported a car and probably my last.
That sucks man. Sounds like you are already back home though. At least you are home to deal with it.
What condition was the car when you bought it? Did the seller take any photos before it left that he can send you?
