The great thing about eecu is that they will take off the old truck loan when considering you for a new loan. I'm sure skip deals with eecu at the dealership, he is where we learned about them in the first place.

Eecu didn't take my student loans into account when I got my truck loan. My fiance's credit is in the low 700s and got tier 1 credit which was 3.2. Mine is about the same and I got 4.5% last year when interest rates were higher. It was tier 1 then

I've always gotten good rates from Denton Area Teachers Credit Union. Don't have to be a teacher or anything. Even on older cars their rates are pretty reasonable.

How did you signup without being military? Did you signup as a red cross volunteer or pay to joing one of those non-profit organizations? Then you pay the $5 dollars to joing the CU before evening starting the loan application.

Is this right or am I doing it wrong.

I had to join the national military family assn. For the rate I got when I bought my bike in 2006 it was worth the $10 or so that it cost.

I signed up after my discharge, so I had to join the NMFOA. It's only a few bucks and you never have to pay again. Penfed transferred the money to my checking the same day... I think there may have been a small fee for it though.

Most new cars have 0% financing right now so I would be going through the dealership... but new Ford and dodge trucks are still well over 30 k new even with all of the incentives.
