I will most likely go with my CU as they offer 3.99%. I also like State Farm because it is very easy and you get free gap insurance.

Yup. I use Tarrant Co. Credit Union and they've always beat the shit out of my bank on loan rates.

SgtBeavis's credit union has always had the lowest rate I have found. I forget what it's called. Used to be EDS Credit Union.

I personally always finance through EECU. My fiance got 3.2% on her 2009 Mini Cooper S

Here is the list of rates. You also get .25% deduction if you do auto withdrawal of payments.
Vehicle Model Year Term APR as low as*
              2008 - 2009 48 months 3.20%
              2008 - 2009 60 months 3.50%
              2008 - 2009 66 months 4.00%
              2008 - 2009 72 months 5.75%
              2006-2007 48 months 4.90%
              2006-2007 60 months 5.10%
              2004-2005 48 months 7.85%
              2004-2005 60 months 8.75%

How does EECU work if you are not teacher?

You dont have to be. You need to live or work in Tarrant County. Or have a family member/friend who does. Credit Unions these days are just like any other bank with a location restriction most of the time. The teacher thing is just how it got going I believe.

I misread it.. i thought you had to live/work in Tarrant county AND be a teacher or work for a qualifing company.

I work in Tarrant count but dont meet anything else.

If you dont mind me asking... was your credit considered good or excellent? We are currently in the "good" range. The only that is hurting me is the amount of student loans. No late payments or anything and have credit history for 6 yrs.

One thing that might hurt me is the truck I just sold will not show 0 balance on my credit report until next month at the earliest. Currently it shows a 30000 balance on that truck on my credit. But it does show I have made repeated on time payments on that truck of 530.. we are looking to get into something around 300-350 so maybe it will help that we can show we were able to make the higher payment without any trouble.
