There are a million guitar lesson videos on youtube.
Find one starts with the basics and go from there.

Hell I've had a few guitar players I know tell me that the Esteban videos are actually really good.

So do you stand over your kids with a loaded gun all day while they're in school? What about when they're at a friend's house?

Run a background check - if they are a kid toucher, tell them to hit the road. If they have drug convictions, tell them to teach the kids how to play.

If you know better, why are you hiring them?

Amen. I've been playing "at it" since I was about 12. We never had video's, DVD's or You-tube. It's amazing what's out there for free or damn near it. With some desire, a kid could be light-years ahead of me in a few years of dedicated practice.

I've been playing 20 years now, and still find stuff on there I didn't know.

I've been playing a lot longer than that, and I see stuff on Youtube that's still new to me!

I knew this thread would end up providing some much needed information and ideas. Great job.

D1 and independent ball. Read sentence two of post eleven.

The best pitching coach I ever had never played past college. He lead a D1 JUCO team to a 63-0 season and now he is a minor league coach.

I'm talking about you calling the shots on how they get taught. I realize the contractor in question has to make you comfortable, but you hired them for a reason. I may just be reading you wrong, though.
