Blake, I have an 06 Altima that I have been litterally beating the shit out of since 08. I had an allignent done a few months after I got it, along with a new set of tires. They are wearing perfect, and I am about to hit 85k on the factory pads.

The only issue I have seen: The radio will turn itself up/down radomly every blue moon.

I have a base model, 2.5 auto, power windows, but none of the extra options. I worked on them for a bit in 03/04, and the Altimas seemed to have few issues.Sentras were the ones with electrical ussues from what I saw. Any of the cars with the extra crap and options could be in for something stupid, but the strippers were tanks. At the same time (actually the same night) my mom bought an 07, and hasnt had a single issue from hers. She is the typical teacher, only drives to school-grocery-work, but still without issue.

I was really going for a v6/5spd, but they were extreamly hard to find, and looked and drove an SER. I went cheap, and am still glad I did. I wanted an 05-06 Maxima, but didnt want to pay the pricetag.

My dad had an 04 and 06 G35 Coupe (both auto) and I loved it. It wasn't "fast" as I'm used to...but it handled like a slot car, stopped on a dime, and ran sewing machine smooth. It was pretty fast too (if you consider low 14's with 28mpg good). My mother briefly had a fully decked out 06 Altima SE-R just like the one the OP showed..I would drive that fucker daily with a smile. FAST!!!! Roomy, decent mileage for a car with close to 300 hp, very nice build quality, looked good, sounded good, nice stereo, excellent brakes, the worst thing that car ever had was MASSIVE torque steer. I'd drive the shit out of an Altima SE-R.

What about a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT? Same engine as the WRX but more luxurious. Great reviews and you can find a used on in the 10k-12k range.

            You are not crazy.

If you really like the '04+ TL look into the TSX as well. They have a 210 hp 2.4 instead of the TL's 260 hp 3.2 but they are more nimble and just as fun to drive. Plus you can get one with a six speed and that increases the fun factor and the 4 cylinder in the TSX will get better gas mileage.

Also, price will be a little lower than the TL. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a TL or TSX with 80-100k miles if it's clean and has been maintained well.

I immediately thought of a late model Marauder.. 4 doors, comfortable, and plenty under the hood. I would have bought one, but you couldn't ever order a factory manual tranny.

Threw those wheels on it so it would roll, kept the wheels he had since all but 1 tire were like new. All stock other than the hood. His wife rear ended a truck low speed and damaged the hood so he picked up a cheap cf hood and grill to throw on it. Other than that it was bone stock. The motor decided to consume 5 quarts of oil in less than a week with no signs of a leak or any visible defects. The trans was replaced twice for a very random driveability problem, that never really was cured, may have been part of the fire problem. I didn't work on the car other than basic maintenance since he'd been going through the dealer with the warranty work. I didn't want to get in the middle of it.

                        LMAO @ Denny stuff.

I think I know how this will go, but just in case: Lincoln LS.

Not too shabby. Pimp, but no power. Gas mileage sucks for what it is.

I second this. Those cars are a lot of fun to drive and they're pretty comfortable too.

Subarus are nice, but you dont really need the AWD down there. Those are pretty popular up here though.

That's about what I'm seeing. 20mpg for a fat v8 luxo isn't too bad, but it'd be more forgivable if it had more go.

Yeah I was just googling some info on these. They never really have been on my radar before, but for the first time ever, it's a Subaru that isn't butt ass ugly. They seem to be damn cheap too.
