It all comes down to top tube length, and at your height, somewhere between 24" and 25.5" will probably fit the bill.
That would be a 21" Specialized on the low side, all the way up to a XXL (22" or 23") anything else.
If you're thinking of buying a bike, pm me. There's a killer deal on tall guy 29er frames going right now, you can build up a bike for half of what it would cost new.

I have a cheapo 26" now and it is ridiculous. I feel I am riding one of those mini bikes. I have the seat all the way to the top position you could set it at, and I still feel like it makes me have horrible riding posture.

But on a serious note, I'm running a 3x9 (27 speed). I got jumbled up with the tire size and gears, and accidently put 29 speed. Give me a break.

I haven't ridden a 29'er yet, but I think the biggest attribute's to them are typically smoother ride and a little faster downhill.
I think for alot of rider's it's somewhat of a fad to get a 29'er. All of their riding buddies have one, and they're bored with the current mtb they have so....
I just got a killer deal on a Yeti ASR, because the guy wanted to jump over to a 29'er. He absolutely loved the bike he was selling me and I could tell he was having second thoughts, but he sold it anyway so he could spring for a $3k 29'er.

People say that a 29er is like riding with a little bit of suspension. It's not. It's more like the trail is smoother, it doesn't get upset on smaller bumps because of the much better approach angle. There are downsides, but at my height, they are well worth working around.

Not much wrong with a 29er. The first time you ride a 29er, the steering will feel slow, but you adjust to it after a couple of rides. When 29ers "were" a fad...the geometry and suspension angles were still being tinkered with by the manufacturers. A lot of that stuff has been ironed out over the last 2-3 years. The newest 29ers can do everything and do it as well or better than a 26" bike.
