  • Tempurpedic vs Sleep No. vs ...

I'm tired of my wore out pillow top mattress...I think it's a Simmons...I've been debating the two that I see and hear so much about...the Tempurpedic and the Sleep Number bed.

Anybody get to try these out and what do you think?

I've slept on both quite a bit.

My next mattress will probably be a tempurpedic, and you have to pay me to sleep in a sleep number bed.

I post this is every mattress thread. Check out the Novaform memory foam mattress from Costco. It is only $800 (king) and has a 20 year warranty, but really a lifetime warranty because everything bought at Costco (other than electronics) has a lifetime satisfaction guarantee.

I've had mine for 6 years and love it. It is still like new.

What kind of life do you get out of one? I thought they had something like a 20 year warranty?

While I don't own a tempurpedic bed, I do have to say that I have slept on one for a few nights, and I've never felt as refreshed upon waking in the mornings...except maybe after a hooker and a shot of benadryl.

We've had ours for about 4 years, actually think it's cooler than a regular bed. The one we got had some layer under the foam to help it breathe or something.

We love the Tempurpedic, although I never slept in a sleep # bed.

Sleep number sucks. When tempurpedic first came out, they were much hotter. I have heard they have designed around that issue.

We had the good ole pillow top mattress and went to the Sleep Number. Thank gawd it has the 45 day money back guarantee because that thing sucked. Well, Lyn could never sleep worth a crap on it, and woke up with a sore back every morning. Sent it back (minus $200 for pickup fee) and got the Tempur-Pedic. We both sleep like babies! It might be a tad bit warmer than regular beds, but not really that noticeable IMO.

I think we got the Cloud Supreme model, but they have several that are pretty damn comfy.

Go check out the GrandBed in the HD collection, fucker in a king is like $8300.00! Soft as hell tho...

Edit: The only thing I can say about Costco's beds I did not like, they had none on display where you could try one out and see how soft/firm it was.

This is what my sister had to do. They never got comfortable and got rid of it.

I have the original tempurpedic 8 inch, going on about ten years now. It feels just like it did when I bought it. I sleep like a rock every night, and can't imagine buying anything else. Mine is supposedly the "hot" mattress, but it's not an issue for me at all, and the little bit of heat it does hold is actually a plus in the winter (although it makes me not want to get out of it)

I have not tried any of the other memory foam brands, but the main differences between them is the density of the foam - they vary in firmness. Of course, tempurpedic now has several different designs to get the feel you want. I would bet dollars to donuts if you did the free trial with a tempurpedic you'd keep it and love it.
