Would this be one of the many songs you have?

Thank goodness, in my line of work, it doesn't happen very often. Recently, one of my plumber's expressed his anger at having mud on a slab when they were doing a stack-out and tub-set. He blasted me for making him "work in all this fucking mud", and I should "clean this shit up". I surprised myself by remaining eerily calm, walked over to him (with his guys watching), and quietly said,"I didn't tell you to be here today, so pack up all your goddam, fucking tools, and haul ass". I smiled really big, got in my truck and left. It was very effective. He's been kissing my ass ever since.

I work fairly close to Joe Pool Lake. I've flat told my boss I'll be back in an hour, leave, and go relax lakeside for 30 minutes - sometimes beer in hand. Usually he's the problem, and usually that buys me a few more months of sanity.

first off, if your employer will pay, i reccommend a dale carnigee 8 to 12 week class. good stuff.
secondly, i have a rule i never break. if i feel like i have to yell at someone or make them cry to manage them, then i need to fire them. the right guys dont have to be managed this way

I did Carnegie 20 years ago, and it's the same class. It's fine, but in my opinion, a little out-dated and a little unrealistic. You might as well read,"How to win friends and influence people".
