It really depends on the person I'm having trouble with. A smoke always helps though, and the fully stocked bar does too. I catch 12 kinds of shit for things that really aren't my problems, and it makes for a hostile environment a lot of the time. ANYTHING goes wrong, and I have countless people to answer to. End user, channel partner, GC, Superintendent, factory, architect, consultant, sales manager, VP, CEO, and a lot of times CFO. I've grown accustomed to it over the years, but shit still gets hairy too often. Each person has to be handled very differently. You almost have to be a master of manipulation. I read people pretty well, and I deal with several of those daily. Every situation has a drastically different response on my end. I can deliver the harshest of responses, but done in the right tone and with the right approach, can smooth almost anything over. but occasionally, all tact is lost and I can have someone on their heels and speechless, near tears when it's necessary. Those moments seem to help with the stress of the other moments when things are delicate.

I have never had anyone piss me off that bad that I had to worry about keeping my cool. I just get my job done and go on with life. Life is too short to get upset.

When it comes to work I am more critical of myself than others and the most upset I get is when I made a mistake or overlooked something.
