          Ahhh more "Christmas help"

J/K! Congrats.... If you can get them take EVERY school they will give you. It is harder for people who work 5 day/40's during the week but if your job allows you to "drill/adt/adtt/mobilize" more then grab it when you are able. You will build up your retirement points quicker and open up other avenues. DO NOT be that guy who shows up and wants to read a paper or disapear to medical all day. That will happen at first (medical/check in etc etc) just to get onboard.

Once you are in your unit get involved and be an asset and you will go far... Is it still set up where you drill at a NOSC and get classes about Navy history and traditions then you get the accelerated bootcamp? Or with prior job experience you show up and OJT?

WTF would someone join the Navy and then try to get stationed around DFW? Get out there and see the world....

In the reserves there is a theory you float 2 weeks a year if you are in the right rate.

Seabees will drill working on a "project" somewhere while the stuff they are playing with is actualy being done by all the contractors the military is using to cut down manpower and "save" money... Just a theory nothing to see here move along...

Construction is the second best field to be in in the Navy.

I'll give you that. When you're on any boat, you definitely want to stay on the good side of the A-gang!
