It's not that a 250 dollar grill is a cheap grill, they'll function fine.
I don't know what 250 will get you but don't finance a grill.

I have a $99 special from Home Depot. Cheap ass grill, but that SOB has been outside for 6 years now and hasnt given me any problems. And I seriously use it at least twice a week, I grill very often.

              Weber /conversation

Bought one new in 2000. It sits on the deck with a cheesy cover on it in all types of weather. Zero maintenance. Just toss in a fresh propane tank in there ever season and keep on grillin'.

F Home Depot and lowes. Go to Academy and look for their closeouts. I got this bad mama jama for 249.00 about a month ago. Also they are built and ready to go.

Most "stainless" grills are only stainless on the outer covering, just for show. The innards are plain steel. The outside stays looking good, but insides rust out. My GF had a $350 stainless grill & the whole bottom fell out when it was 5 years old. A grill that is 100% stainless would cost well over $1000.

I have a 15 year old Charbroil with a cast aluminum body & lid - and Made in the USA. I just put in a new burner about every 5 years.

So unless your going to buy a high dollar unit, just get a $100- $150 cheapo since there all made of sheetmetal anyway.

Anyone have or used the infrared grills? I was wondering how good they are for the price.

I have a BBQ's Galore Capain Cook....best damned money I ever spent! The thing cooks great, but most importantly it has held up excellent...and I don't even cover it.

Ditto, I just bought a new Weber Genesis S-330 and couldn't be happier with it.

That grill will be falling apart in under 18 months. I'd have saved the $130.

So much bad info in this post. First off, a $350 stainless grill is a cheap piece of shit. Like a char broil.... Last a year or two, and parts are absurd. Second off 95% of stainless grills have galv steel inner lining. Even a lot of the $1000+ grills are lined with galvanized steel. There isn't a damn thing wrong with galv steel. Don't be a lazy ass, and take care of your shit. The galv steel will be just fine as long as you take care of it.

Even translating to the commercial market, 95+% of the charbroilers out there use a galvanized liner. The only place youll find anything different is USDA Facilities, because chicken fat is corrosive to ALL metal, even stainless. The stainless just lasts a little longer. I've got broilers out there that are 30+ years old, an still rocking strong. And they all have galv liners.
