Most "stainless" grills are only stainless on the outer covering, just for show. The innards are plain steel. The outside stays looking good, but insides rust out. My GF had a $350 stainless grill & the whole bottom fell out when it was 5 years old. A grill that is 100% stainless would cost well over $1000.
I have a 15 year old Charbroil with a cast aluminum body & lid - and Made in the USA. I just put in a new burner about every 5 years.
So unless your going to buy a high dollar unit, just get a $100- $150 cheapo since there all made of sheetmetal anyway.

I have a BBQ's Galore Capain Cook....best damned money I ever spent! The thing cooks great, but most importantly it has held up excellent...and I don't even cover it.70' Chevelle RagTop

So much bad info in this post. First off, a $350 stainless grill is a cheap piece of shit. Like a char broil.... Last a year or two, and parts are absurd. Second off 95% of stainless grills have galv steel inner lining. Even a lot of the $1000+ grills are lined with galvanized steel. There isn't a damn thing wrong with galv steel. Don't be a lazy ass, and take care of your shit. The galv steel will be just fine as long as you take care of it.
Even translating to the commercial market, 95+% of the charbroilers out there use a galvanized liner. The only place youll find anything different is USDA Facilities, because chicken fat is corrosive to ALL metal, even stainless. The stainless just lasts a little longer. I've got broilers out there that are 30+ years old, an still rocking strong. And they all have galv liners.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.
