It definitely looks a lot more constructed than Chennai. 10 feet out the hotel gates and there are mud huts... lol

Enjoy the experience. I have worked in Afghanistan for 5 years now and I used to travel as much of it EVERY chance I got. My journey to Afg has taken me to Dubai (too many times) and right now I am sitting in a hotel room in Barcelona 2 blocks from La Rambla.

I work with lots of Indians and they are very nice people.

Enjoy; there is nothing like seeing other parts of the world to make you appreciate your home.

Smell isn't too bad, you can smell the curry cooking, but that doesn't bother me much. None of the hotel employees have an bad BO or anything, but have run across a few others from outside that have it bad.

When I worked at the Honda dealer, one summer I had a whole gang of like 7 Indian guys come in to look at an Odyssey van for one of them. It was 100 degrees and humid as fuck outside. We got in it to test drive and they ALL got in. I had the AC running and the fucking guy turned it off. By the time we got back 10 mins later I was ready to puke.

Also they had to run an ozone machine in there for 2 days to get the fucking stink out.

I am surprised they turned it off. Everyone here loves AC when they can get it. The buildings and cars are constantly set to 68 degrees. I freeze my ass off. That is probably why I got sick.. Going from 68-73 insides to 104 outside and humid is no bueno.

The weather here is very similar but MUCH more humid. When I first got here it was almost hard to breathe, the air feels thick and your face immediately gets oily/sweating when you go outside.

Yea i have no idea why he turned it off.....Looking back on it, he may have just turned the fan WAY down. Either way it was hot and smelled BAD.

Weather in Chennai must be warmer than here, yesterday was really nice, high was in the mid 80's.

Forced myself to stay awake all day yesterday to try getting my body used to the new sleeping pattern. Now off to find some breakfast.

It is mid 80 or higher at night and over 100 during the day. I am about 10-20 minutes from the beach and the Cheif Ministers office.
