Don't drink the water unless it is bottled. Period.
Bring extra clothes and medicine/sanatizer of some sort on your carry on.
Sleep when you can.
I made the decision I should stay longer to monitor things for a while and I am wishing I was home right now. You will definitely know you are in the third world country the moment you step off the plane, literally. They don't have terminals you get to walk through. They dump your ass out on the tarmac and come up with two busses and jam everyone in there.
You have nothing to be worried about though. When I first landed I won't lie, I was a bit intimidated, but it wears off after a few hours. You are experiencing something that you will most likely never experience again in your life. Get out and enjoy it. Don't be like some coworkers who stay couped up inside all day. There is more out there than the great America.
That is all I have for now. Be safe, have fun and enjoy it.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

In my opinion travelling PUTS things into perspective.
I have a completely different outlook on life and to a point even changes my views. The things we take for granted, the stereo typical comments, is just silly when you have experienced it and you hear it from those who haven't.
Yeah their standards are well below ours but you know what, the hospitality here and the way I have been treated, in public and at my hotel is barnone. Complete strangers call me sir, or will try and help if they notice your are lost. I have never experienced that in the states before..... On top of that, they are happy. So who cares.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

exactly... I spent a while in Egypt a couple summers ago. Most of it was spent in a shitty little camp living in a connex building, but I wish I could go back and re-live all of it!
If you're going to be in a nice hotel? sheeeeit... I'd do it in a heartbeat!

Got here arround 6:30 PM CDT. To say it is overwhelming is an understatement. Flights were uneventful, got upgraded to Business Class on my flight to London, and that was damn nice. Flight to Inida wasn't nearly as good (British Airways) but I slept most of the flight. Hotel is very nice, though the decor is tacky (lots of tiger prints, gaudy decorations, etc.). Going to try and stay up, do some exploring of the hotel in a few. The drive from the airport to the hotel was eye opening, there may be traffic laws here, but no one obeys them, not unusual to see 4 cars wide in a two car road... stop signs are just suggestions, and EVERYONE honks for everything... lots of run down building, seems there is construction going on everywhere and none of it is finished..
