No thanks I've been several times. I was on the islands for 3 months at a time for 3 different years. This probably my 5th or 6th trip there

I wouldn't want to live there either. I grew up in Florida and didn't care for it. I can see Hawaii being similar to FL minus the mountains, oh and the lava.

I didn't think it was too outrageous. Everything was on par as it was here but maybe a few bucks more.

We didn't go grocery shopping fwiw though...

I agree with you, I loved the place (Maui) but I just couldn't live there. The food is awesome, just don't know if I could go with out good Mexican food.

Oahu has about 5 real mexican joints, and numerous good tex mex joints (I like myself some Sopes, and some fresh made Churros so, I rarely inhabit the tex mex places). All of them are out of the way, hole in the wall places. If you like sushi I can recommend a place or two that will blow your mind.
